Daphna has been making and selling crafts since she was a teenager in Ottawa. She loves to visit fellow artisans, to learn about their work and their lives. A former product design technician at Parsons School of Design, and Research Fellow at the Parsons DEED Lab, Daphna holds a B.F.A. in Ceramics, and an M.Sc. in Nonprofit Management with a specialization in Design for Social Entrepreneurship. She is the founder of Craft Talk and has worked as a consultant, with a focus on ethical sourcing and fair trade practices, for women artisans and small businesses in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. Daphna is dedicated to the economic empowerment of women —especially for those whose opportunities are limited and especially through the prism of entrepreneurship and design.
